Your First Visit

Your First Visit

We look forward to welcoming you to Koru Natural Therapies.

It is great to know what to expect before you arrive, as well as what to bring.

Prior to your appointment, you can request we send an appointment confirmation via sms and or email. We may send you a google maps link and or information specific to the practitioner you have booked in with.

For all appointments, we kindly request you arrive 10 minutes early in order to ensure we run on time and appropriate forms can be completed.

All Osteopathy Appointments

Our initial consultations last from 45 – 60 minutes to allow an in-depth conversation regarding your current complaint, medical and family history will be obtained. A detailed assessment and explanation of your issue will be discussed prior to development of your therapeutic plan. We will need to obtain informed consent prior to any treatment being performed. A written management plan, which may include at home advice or exercises, investigations such as an x-ray or MRI or referral to another health care professional may be provided. It is important you follow these recommendations.
You will most likely need to return for a follow-up appointment, your practitioner will instruct if and when you need to return.

Baby and Children’s Osteopathy Appointments

We warmly welcome families to appointments at Koru Natural Therapies. Experience has shown that young children’s appointments tend to be best in the morning. Please bring along your “Green book” and any other medical reports that may be relevant to your child’s health and wellbeing.

In order for our time to be maximised, we recommend children are well fed and bring a favourite toy to their appointment. Baby appointments tend to be smoother when the baby is fed, clean and dry and preferably sleepy, however we recognise that this isn’t always simple, just do your best as we are sure you always do!

Adult Osteopathy Appointments

Please bring along any relevant reports or investigations, such as previous imaging to your appointment. If you have a chronic disease management plan, work cover or TAC claim, please ensure you have your documentation with you. We can not guarantee it has been received from a referring practitioner.
We recommend you wear loose, stretchy and comfortable clothing to your appointment. It may be necessary for you to remove some items of clothing, however treatment may allow you to keep your clothes on in most instances.

Massage Appointments

Your therapist will ask you some questions regarding your current presentation and if you have any medical conditions. This is important to ensure you receive the best care on the day. We recommend you wear loose and comfortable clothing, that is easy to remove. Your underwear will remain on at all times. Massage appointments may or may not include cupping or dry needling, this will be discussed at the time of your consultation. We offer 30 -120 minute appointment lengths, however we normally recommend at least 60 minutes for a first visit.

We kindly inform all invoices are processed on the day of your appointment.
