7 Reasons Why To Switch Your Thongs To Archies

Do you love wearing a pair of thongs in the Summer, but find yourself with sore, tired, or achy feet at the end of the day, then it’s time to get to know Archies!

These have been designed with comfort and functionality in mind.

Developed by an Australian podiatrist and loved by thousands of people, you too can experience the benefits of these thongs with built in arch support.

Benefits of Archies

1. Encourages posture and alignment

Built in arch support encouraging optimal posture and body alignment, particularly helpful for people with flat feet, or if you wear orthotics on a regular basis.

With up to 2.2cm of orthotic support, Archies Thongs incorporate the same amount of support that you would find from an ‘off the shelf’ orthotic, however with the patented design, they look just like normal thongs.

The support found within Archies Footwear may help to support the foot in a more biomechanically appropriate position thereby easing the stresses and strains that would otherwise be transferred to the musculoskeletal system.

2. Oh so comfy

Super comfortable material, with a specialised closed cell foam material built to mould to your foot, with “wow” factor for anyone that tries them on.

Once you get used to them, you will never want to take them off your feet and most people say that they simply cannot wear ‘normal thongs’ after wearing Archies Thongs!

3. Ultra strong design

No more broken straps or plugs popping out when you’re out and about. The one piece design makes them ultra durable.

4. Eliminate toe clawing

No more gripping through the toes, reducing muscular load on the feet and lower legs, which otherwise work to keep thongs on your feet.

5. Light weight

These are light as a feather on the feet, no more heavy, thumping thongs for you.

6. 30 day comfort guarantee

As a bonus, they come with a 30 day comfort guarantee, so you can try them out for yourself knowing you can return them at any time.

7. Stretchable Strap

Another fantastic feature is that you can stretch the toe strap if it is naturally a little snug.

It’s good to know that Archies are designed to be tighter fitting.

They should “fit like a glove” with very little space in front of the toes and behind the heels so that the arch sits in the correct position on the foot.

Follow this guide to get the perfect fit!

Stretching the strap

Archies Thongs have been designed with a tighter strap compared to normal thongs.

The tighter strap in Archies allows the user to walk more naturally.

As everyone has different shaped feet, for some customers the strap in Archies Thongs might be too tight.

The good news is, while a tight strap is important for normal foot function, if the strap is too tight, this can be instantly fixed by stretching the strap with your hands.

We have found that customers love this, as they feel like they’re getting a personalised service and a custom fit.

Getting the perfect fit

The strap will stretch with wear, however, if the strap continues to feel too tight, just stretch the strap and the toe pole to decrease tightness.

How to stretch the strap:

1. Hold the strap between your fingers and stretch sections in small increments. You can also stretch the toe pole using this method.

2. Continue trying the thong on and off until it has reached your desired level of tightness.

3. If the strap is still too tight, then you might have to give it a decent pull or repeat this multiple times until perfect.

Watch out for these areas

While the straps are very strong, there are some places you should not stretch:

  • Directly on a seam line (indicated by a faint line through the strap).
  • Where the straps insert onto the top of the toe pole (the V joining shape).
  • On the sides where the straps join to the footbed.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Where not to stretch!

While the straps are very strong, there are some places you should never stretch:

  • Where the straps insert onto the top of the toe pole (the V joining shape).
  • On the sides where the straps join to the footbed.

Questions about the width

Archies Thongs are normal-width thongs.

They have a tighter strap which gives the feeling of a tight/snug fit.

It’s very rare that we can’t fit Archies Thongs to someone’s feet, no matter how wide or narrow they are.

The most important thing is that the thong is comfortable and the orthotic sits in the correct position on the foot. Remember, the strap and toe pole can be stretched with your hands to get the perfect fit.

Finding the right Length

Archies Thongs were designed for a reasonably snug/tight fit.

If you go too big in terms of length, the orthotic will not sit in the correct position.

A slight overhang of the heel is acceptable, and preferable to being too large.

Again, the most important thing is that the thong is comfortable and the orthotic sits in the correct position on the foot.
