You have various services available, how do I know what is the best for me?
Often people are unsure as to what is the most appropriate approach for them at this time. Individualistic advice can be provided by contacting the clinic on 9736-9408.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments will vary from case to case. Your practitioner will be able to discuss with your treatment plan and give an estimate of how many treatments you will require during your first consultation.
How long does a treatment take?
This varies depending on your complaint and the practitioner you see.
Allow up to one hour for an initial consultation with an osteopath, during which your practitioner will take a medical history, assess and provide treatment or appropriate advice. An appropriate individualised management plan will be discussed. Allow up to 30 minutes for a return consultation.
Myotherapy and massage appointments range from 30-90 minutes.
Please speak to reception regarding hypnotherapy appointments.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
You do not need a referral from your GP, however some people are referred under the CDM program to osteopaths. Our team often liaises with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Should I bring x-rays, scans or test results?
If you have had any x-rays or other medical tests, these or the reports may help in the management of your condition, so please bring them with you.
Additionally, your child’s green book is of assistance if they are having an osteopathic appointment.
Can I claim my treatment on Private Health Insurance?
The ‘extras’ cover for most private health funds include osteopathic, myotherapy and massage treatment. Rebates vary depending on the level of cover and can range from $15 to full benefit. Our HICAPS facility allows you to process your health claim on the spot, so you are only required to pay the gap.
Can I claim my treatment on Medicare?
Some patients are eligible for Medicare subsidised osteopathic treatment under the Chronic Disease Management program. There are strict eligibility requirements, which are determined by your GP. You will require a referral from your GP before your appointment.
I need to cancel my appointment, what should I do?
Please call the clinic and speak to a staff member or leave a message on our answering machine. Note that we require a cancellation for all appointments the day prior to your scheduled time or a fee will be charged. We provide a free reminder SMS to your designated mobile phone the weekday before your scheduled time on request.
